Despite spending a night on what should be a paradise island this came a great cost that was realised a day later. I have been eaten alive by a large variety of insects but mostly sand flies or "chicras" in Spanish.
These horrid insects have cover me and Sol in bites and we now seem to spend a large majority of any free time we have scratching!!!
I have never had so many bites in my life and this is just one arm and one leg!
On a lighter note here are a couple of nice pictures of canadensis
Here are some newly emerged babies - you can tell from their black eyes. As they are so young we cannot tag them with a number and instead give them some paint spots until they are big enough!
